Report Writing on the Wonders of the World

Ancient Statue
The Colossus of Rhodes is an ancient statue also known as one of the famous seven wonders of the world. It is a statue that stands in the entrance of the harbour by the Mediterranean Island of Rhodes. This statue is a remembrance of the victory of Rhodes' victory over the ruler of Cyprus.

It was built many years ago by a young man named Chares Lindos and his men from Greece. In 226BC an earthquake struck Rhodes and destroyed the statue to its knees.

For almost a thousand years the statue was left ruined. It took 12 years to re-build. Before the destruction it was 30 meters high making it one of the tallest statues of the ancient world.

  1. Fantastic reports, Katinia and Whatai! The Colossus of Rhodes was always my favourite Ancient Wonder. How did they build something so huge without the help of the technology we have today?
